FMSA Annual Golf Outing – 2018
On Sunday, August 26th the weather was perfect in Pittsburgh. At South Hills Country Club, that perfect weather provided a great setting for FMSA’s 13th Annual Golf Tournament. The festivities opened with the singing of the National Anthem, as 108 participants honored our flag, our nation, and the men and women who serve and protect “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” We hope to make that a new tradition at future outings.
Familiar longtime attendants, as well as some first-timers, came together to support the work that FMSA is doing in providing food and shelter for needy children and elderly in Costa Rica. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful, well-designed and perfectly-maintained course. The camaraderie was evident as golfers competed, joked and encouraged on another on the course. Afterward, we all came together for a delicious steak dinner. There were skill prizes, including Pro Shop gift certificates for first, second and third place winners. Every golfer left with a $50 gift certificate for a restaurant in hand, a smile on his/her face.
Most importantly, through the outing, FMSA raised enough money to continue the work we do for another year! Our thanks to go out to participants, prize donors, volunteers, and the staff at South Hills Country Club—everyone who helped make this year’s event a success.
