April 2021 Update
Update: April 2021
New Year, New Start
The past year has brought many changes around the world. In spite of the difficult circumstances related to Covid-19, FMSA was able, by the grace of God, to provide 23,576 meals to hungry children in Costa Rica. Our Lord has provided for our needs through the generosity of our supporting donors. However, because we were unable to hold our golf tournament last year, our funds have been nearly depleted. Looking forward to life becoming more normal, we anticipate holding this fund-raising event in 2021. If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please contact email@example.com.
In February, we closed our kitchen at Fuente de Vida Eterna, and relocated to a home-based church in a very poor section of San Jose. This small group of believers meet for Sunday services, etc. at the home of their pastor. Pastor Cesar worked hard to provide an adequate space where we could store, prepare and serve meals…even tearing down walls in a room that had been set aside to house visiting missionaries.
In the first six weeks, Pastor Cesar, his family, and church volunteers have served 2,804 meals…that’s an average of 95 children, for 5 days a week! We anticipate that number reaching 150 children per day. The church also provides a bible lesson each day for the children who come.
It is said that one picture is worth a thousand words, and that statement is definitely true in this case. If you take a few minutes to look at the pictures, you’ll get an idea of the effort, sacrifice, and love exhibited by this church for the good of the children and for the glory of the Lord.
We believe that, after much prayer on our part, the Lord, in His Providence has led us to this new place. We ask you to join us in praying that He will continue to bless our ministry.
